In this lesson you will learn how to paint this apple

Concept

In Lesson 2 we learned how to sketch an apple looking at a digital photo. In this lesson we will make the apple sketch into a finished painting. Our main tools will be the Airbrush, the Water tool and our eyes. There are several ways to paint in Painter Classic, but in this lesson I will show how I do 95 % of my work; with the Airbrush and the Water tool.

We will work with grayscales only (that means no colors, just black, gray and white). We choose to work in grayscale because our apple photo is black/white and because its easier than painting with color.

You will need to have a sketch of the apple before you start on this lesson. Do Lesson 2 - Sketching Session to create your own, or you can download my sketch from the Lesson 2.

Tools we'll use in this lesson:
