Techbits

Greg
Techbits are a brain child of Greg Hess, who initially started them on the Discreet Forum, then moved them here to a permanent home; they are gathered, (chewed up) and processed by Greg Hess and Thomas Bruno, an all around good guys, hardware experts and 3DLuVr staff/contributing authors.

More info on windows Xp. This time its about product activation. Not only is the XP activiation system pretty finiky, its also easily bypassed without too much trouble. Hopefully this information will cause microsoft to drop the whole deal.

Riva station takes a look at the technology featured in ATI's new Radeon 2. Looks impressive, but nice hardware features are worthless unless the features are coded into the application. (See Pentium IV)

Ace uncovers a foul plot. Instability problems with the budget AMD760MP boards. Seems some companies such as MSI around going to be using an AMD northbridge and a VIA soundbridge to shave off 25 dollars. This is going against AMD's recommendations and is causing a whole heap o problems.

Windows XP...new computer anyone? Your going to need a 30-35% faster machine to get the same performance as a windows 2000 box. Linux anyone?
