March 22, 2005 - Curious Labs, Inc. announced today that it has begun shipping Poser 6, the eagerly anticipated new version of their powerful, award-winning 3D human figure software tool for artists, illustrators, graphic designers and animators. Poser 6 delivers sophisticated features combined with an improved user interface allowing hobbyists and creative professionals access to technologies never before offered in one package. Poser 6 is available for Windows 2000/XP and Mac OS X .
Poser 6 includes several powerful new features:
* NEW MALE AND FEMALE FIGURES, (James & Jessi) ~ with photorealistic textures, morph sets, and articulated hands and feet. Also included are Ben and Kate children figures, LaRoo 2 from Runtime DNA, and AlphaMan and BetaBoy figures from Sixus1.

* A MORE EFFICIENT AND FEATURE RICH USER INTERFACE ~ offers a faster and more efficient creative process.
* OpenGL HARDWARE ACCELERATION ~ gives the user faster previews when designing and posing 3D figures.
* AMBIENT OCCLUSION ~ important tool for global illumination-like effects and photorealistic soft shadows.
* IMAGE BASED LIGHTING (IBL) ~ 3D scenes can be lit using a photograph or image map, making figures and objects appear as if they're actually in this real-world environment.
* CARTOON OUTLINE RENDERING EFFECTS ~ one of the most requested new features for illustrators, animators and cartoonists.
* IMPROVED FLASH SUPPORT ~ offers user-defined Flash export colors for the Web.
* CONTENT PARADISE REDESIGN ~ a powerful way to add more content to Poser 6!

The new and improved Content Paradise is an easy to use web portal available from inside Poser, on the Content Paradise web site (www.contentparadise.com) or the Curious Labs web site. Content Paradise allows access to a virtual world of vendors, artists and add-on content. Top computer graphic content providers such as Zygote, Jolly, Renderosity, Cubed, Sixus1Media, RuntimeDNA, Shader's Cafe and The Forge were assembled to offer the widest variety of online computer graphic (CG) resources available. Powerful search capabilities allow the user to find and download content quickly and when needed. A rich variety of available models, textures, tutorials, utilities and free content creates endless possibilities for the CG artist.
