Rhino 3 is open for beta WIP testing for any registered users of Rhino2. Check out the Rhino newsgroup - visit www.rhino3d.com and goto the support pages.
New betas are released regularily with fixes and general improvements.
Key advancements include:
Fully workable shaded viewports of extremely high quality.
Enhanced surface analysis tools
Reworked layer system (much faster to access)
Ability to instance and reference geometry.
A ton of new modelling commands
More polygon editing tools
A new point cloud geometry type - very usefull for reverse engineering.
A new UI.
It should be noted that right now these early releases are classed as WIP (work in progress) and NOT suitable for production.
