CINEMA 4D R9.1 Now Available
Posted by: amigo
Source: Press Release
 Date: Mon Feb 14 2005
MAXON, February 14, 2005 - 3D software developer MAXON has released the first update to its award winning flagship tool CINEMA 4D Release 9. Over 50 new features and many more enhancements are packed into the R9.1 update with the focus on data exchange, n-gons, the interface and the material system. The update is freely downloadable from www.maxon.net.

Compositing artists gripped on 3D have a new toy to play with in R9.1: besides the existing support for After Effects, Combustion and Final Cut Pro, CINEMA 4D projects can now be transferred to Apple's brand new graphics package Motion.

For architects using Allplan keen to get their hands on CINEMA 4D's organic modeling tools, there's now direct export to Allplan 2005. The new Allplan 2005 exporter returns geometry to the CAD environment true to size and in the exact same position.

MAXON has also taken the opportunity to integrate n-gon support in many of the import and export filters, most notably FBX, LightWave 3D and VRML.

Modeling has matured in the update with enhanced support for n-gons that makes it easier to create a clean mesh. Chief of the many enhancements here is a brand new type of HyperNURBS optimized for n-gons, as well as a new option that allows caps to be created as n-gons.

The user interface also sports tweaks. The hugely popular HeadUpDisplay, introduced in Release 9, has been refined to allow even greater control over the data displayed in the viewport. Scene navigation has been improved, especially when creating camera animation, thanks to new camera tumbling modes.

Last but not least, the material system boasts three new types of noise: Fire, Electric and Gaseous; a noise preview window now means that you can select a type of noise more easily via thumbnails, and SubPolygonDisplacement includes new mapping possibilities.

All in all these new features plus the many other tweaks make this one update no CINEMA 4D user will want to be without. MAXON's mission to deliver powerful, easy to use 3D tools takes another impressive leap forward.
