CoreArsenal: CoreParticleTools, New Plug-in for Cinema 4D
Posted by: amigo

 Date: Thu Nov 18 2004
November 17, 2004 - COREPARTICLETOOLS, a new plugin that extends CINEMA 4D R9s Thinking Particles system to include new levels of interactivity, is now available for download at corearsenal, the collection of software tools and processes launched recently by advertising and design firm CORE.

In releasing COREPARTICLETOOLS, corearsenal has teamed with MAXON , the makers of CINEMA 4D , to make the new plugin available to MAXON customers for a special introductory savings of 50%. Through December 31, MAXON customers can get the 50% discount by using coupon code CPN7566177990 during checkout. (Note: LOCO users are eligible to upgrade for FREE. Details on how to receive your upgrade are coming soon.)

corearsenal is all about making powerful, pro-grade tools available to as many people as possible," said designer John Dames. "Partnering with a world-class developer like MAXON to let their user base know about our latest tools is a great example of how we can do that. We really appreciate MAXON 's involvement in launching COREPARTICLETOOLS. Hopefully, it is just the beginning of an ongoing partnership that helps C4D users bring their most innovative ideas to life."

About CoreParticleTools

COREPARTICLETOOLS is a suite of 23 tools aimed at allowing new levels of interactivity and uses for Cinema 4D r9's Thinking Particles system. These tools fill several niches we felt were missing in a lot of 3d packages, but combined, they ended up extending Cinema 4D 's Thinking Particles environment into a truly powerful and competitive studio application.

COREPARTICLETOOLS' most notable and comprehensible application is its ability to create geometry from particles. ParticleTRACER and ParticleSPLINE, for example, create splines from either particle paths or particle relationships. Another example of CPT's geometry applications is ParticleBITCH, a new way to add, control and translate particle geometry (as well as use multiple object sources for particle geometry). These basic tools are indispensable at coreaudiovisual's studios.

But the fundamental role of COREPARTICLETOOLS is not limited to these areas and extends well beyond these familiar roles. CPT seeks to provide new ways of using, controlling and even thinking about particles. It contains objects for creating flowfields that influence system behavior, nodes for extracting and examining data, new forces for creating new particle interactions, tools to use materials and images to drive particles, tags to create workflows utilizing procedural geometry -- and a host of strange, sometimes obscure utilities / nodes / shaders/ tags and objects.

Here are some more specifics:

* Evaluation objects which allow materials / objects to control particle flowfields.
* Tracer objects for generating geometry from particles and their paths.
* Extraction nodes for mining data from particles, pgroups and other Cinema objects.
* Nodes for creating / manipulating interaction between particles and objects.
* Particle Geometry tool featuring multiple source capability.
* Data Shaders, Scene Tools, and the obscure.
