Pixologic Releases ZBrush v1.5
Posted by: amigo
Source: Press Release
 Date: Fri Sep 06 2002
New tools and enchancements in every facet and feature would be the short and sweet about ZBrush v1.5, including new tool called ZSphere, new painting and sculpting tools, enriched texturing features and more. Press release below...

Los Angeles, CA, September 6, 2002 - Pixologic, Inc. is pleased to
announce the release of ZBrush version 1.5

ZBrush, the award-winning digital art creation program, features a
comprehensive collection of 2D and 3D painting, texturing and modeling
tools. ZBrush enables digital artists to create high-quality, original
artwork in a highly creative and interactive environment.

ZBrush version 1.5 introduces new innovative tools and enhancements in
nearly every facet and feature. Some of these enhancements include: New
ground-breaking 3D modeling tool called the ZSphere, new painting and
sculpting tools, enriched texturing features, enhanced lighting and
rendering options such as SoftShadows, and a customizable streamlined
interface. These enhancements and additions are designed to maximize the
artist's creativity and accelerate the concept-to-completion workflow.

In v1.5, users will be able to create both high -and low-polygon meshes
with UV coordinates automatically assigned. The mesh can be textured
with TextureMaster (part of Pixologic's ZScript utility, introduced
earlier this year) and incorporate into a ZBrush composition. The
low-polygon meshes can also be exported to other modeling and animation
programs, or used in real-time applications such as game development.

Pricing and Availability:
The current version of ZBrush, version 1.5, is downloadable online from
the Pixologic website www.ZBrush.com ; ZBrush-CD is available through
authorized selected resellers. ZBrush version 1.5 retails for $399.00

About ZBrush:
ZBrush is an award-winning 2D and 3D image creation and processing
application, powered by a real-time rendering engine. Based on unique
"Pixol" rendering technology, ZBrush enables artists to paint an image
with depth - applying both 2D and 3D effects in one integrated,
real-time workspace. Artists can paint with color, material, texture and
depth; push and pull the canvas; and sculpt and texture 3D models too.
ZBrush has the benefit of pixel-to-pixel control (like a 2D painting
program), with the real-time power of 3D modeling and rendering engine
(like a 3D application). That means instant feedback, which gives
artists more time to experiment and play.... and ultimately be more
productive.

About Pixologic Inc.:
Founded in 1997, Pixologic Incorporated (www.ZBrush.com) develops and
markets innovative software products for digital artists. The privately
funded company is based in Los Angeles, California, with Research and
Development located in Silicon Valley.
