 MAXON and Greenworks update XFrog to v4.2 Posted by: amigo Source: Press Release Date: Thu Aug 05 2004 Greenworks and MAXON - August 5, 2004 - Good news again for CINEMA 4D users who want to create sophisticated organic models such as trees, flowers and octopi: Xfrog - has just been updated to version 4.2.
Xfrog 4.2 for CINEMA 4D adds a number of objects to CINEMA 4D that tremendously enhance its capabilities regarding organic modeling. With its objects specifically designed to model organic structures Xfrog 4.2 will allow you not only to create any kind of plant, it also opens up the way to fantastic abstract organic creations - all fully animated.
The main new feature introduced with Xfrog 4.2 is support for Pruning. This extremly powerful tool allows you to use abitrary geometric objects as Branch growth limit or cut Branches where they hit that object. This allows you to control exactly what shape your object grows into or define places where it shouldn't grow.
Xfrog 4.2 can now create Start and End Caps for Branch Objects. This is especially helpful, when the new Pruning feature is used to cut Branches. Invisible Selections and useful Texture Coordinates are automatically created to apply different Materials to the Branches. Additional to that lots of bugfixes and a huge number of internal improvements have been added to Xfrog 4.2
Availability
Xfrog 4.2 for new users, and as an electronic upgrade can be ordered now through authorized MAXON dealers and the MAXON shop (www.maxonshop.com). Xfrog 4.2 will ship to customers beginning August 19th.
For existing users, Xfrog 4.2 is a free electronic upgrade for customers which have purchased Xfrog 4, July 1st or later, and available as an electronic upgrade for a small fee for earlier Xfrog 4 customers.
