NEW YORK--Aug. 5, 2002--

Atom On Demand's Debut as Part of Comcast Cable's Planned Video on Demand Launch this Fall Will Showcase New Network's Programming

AtomTelevision(TM), a new joint venture between AtomFilms(R) and Global Media Holdings, has announced the launch of a digital network in early '03 using its extensive library of world class short films and animation titles.

As part of AtomTelevision's debut, the company is announcing the launch of its VOD initiative, Atom On Demand(TM). Atom on Demand will provide five one hour-long programs to Comcast Cable Communications, Inc. the country's third largest cable company, as part of the MSO's planned VOD launch in Philadelphia this fall. The programs will be the first of many which will be made available to the entire cable and satellite industry.

"We are pleased to introduce AtomTelevision to the world through our agreement with an industry leader like Comcast," said Mika Salmi, CEO of AtomFilms' parent company; AtomShockwave Corp. "Just as AtomFilms pioneered a new entertainment experience online, AtomTelevision will bring new vision, new voices, and a new audience to television."

The five programming packages AtomTelevision will distribute to Comcast are indicative of the quality and breadth of the content that will ultimately fuel the 24-hour digital cable channel. Below is a sample of the programming for the Atom On Demand premiere:

-- Academy Shorts: Oscar's favorite short films and animations take center stage.

-- Big Stars, Short Films: Innovative shorts featuring Hollywood heavyweights such as Ewan McGregor, Matthew McConaughey, Neve Campbell, Helena Bonham Carter, and Billy Bob Thornton.

-- Animation Spotlight -- Beyond Cartoons: Groundbreaking animations that package unforgettable stories into formats ranging from stop-motion to CGI.

-- Atom Classics: Extraordinary films that have been honored by the world's leading film festivals and lauded by the discerning viewers at AtomFilms.com.

"Comcast is committed to bringing our digital cable customers a robust line-up of entertainment on demand options," said Dave Watson, executive vice president of Sales, Marketing and Customer Service for Comcast. "We are excited to work with AtomTelevision's strong executive leadership team to offer our digital cable customers in Philadelphia the opportunity to enjoy AtomFilms' diverse library of short-form entertainment at no additional charge."

The joint AtomTelevision venture will be managed by cable industry veteran Andrew Tow, founder of Global Media Holdings and former Chairman of the Cable Division for Century Communications Corp. "We are very excited to extend to television the powerful brand that AtomFilms has created, and utilize the world's largest library of short form content to provide a dynamic new television experience," said Mr. Tow.

The Comcast VOD deal is only the beginning for AtomTelevision, which is now in negotiations with several leading cable operators for carriage of the 24-hour AtomTelevision digital cable channel. Atom sites consistently rank among the top 50 most popular Web destinations in the US. The appeal of the channel's unique short-entertainment format has already been demonstrated by the online success of Atom web sites, which attract a loyal, advertising-friendly user base of over 18 million unique users every month, and has registered over 60 million users since its launch in 1998. AtomFilms short form entertainment has been distributed to over 150 partners worldwide in the television, airline, broadband and mobile markets.

Providing content in partnership with cable operators for both a cable channel, VOD and Broadband formats, AtomTelevision will be fueled by its exclusive, high-quality library of thousands of short film and animation titles, highlighted by major award winners, and star-powered content.
