Posted by: amigo
Source: Press Release
 Date: Mon Apr 19 2004
Las Vegas, NV - NAB 2004 - April 19, 2004 BOXX Technologies delivers technology to the innovators in the digital media community with flexible, high-performance workstations designed to enhance creativity and fuel innovation. At NAB 2004, BOXX is offering a technology preview of GoBOXX, a powerful new mobile workstation built specifically for the needs of digital content creation--from 3D modeling and animation to editing and compositing of SD and HD video.

Visit BOXX (booth #SL1755) at NAB 2004 in Las Vegas for a firsthand look at the
GoBOXX capturing footage with a JVC HDV Camcorder and editing with Adobe Premiere Pro and CineForm Aspect HD.
The trend for creative professionals such as artists, animators and editors is to work on projects outside the studio or take presentations directly to clients, says Ed Caracappa, director of sales and marketing at BOXX. The GoBOXX blends high-performance computing for data-intensive applications like animation and editing with the ease of portability to give our customers greater flexibility and more control over their projectsboth in the studio or while on the go.

About GoBOXX and Aspect HD

GoBOXX has the storage capacity and system performance creative professionals require in a mobile workstation. The system features a 17-inch display, Intel Pentium 4 processors, up to 2GB memory, 160GB of storage and ATI graphics to keep the production pipeline flowing regardless of location.

The combination of Adobe Premiere Pro and CineForm Aspect HD allows you to do DV
real-time editing on Windows XP. Aspect HD uses a visually-lossless CFHD codec to deliver four or more HD video streams for real-time editing, including transitions, effects, color adjustments, title and graphic overlays and motion. The system captures directly from JVCs JY-HD10U and GR-HD1 camcorders and JVCs high-definition D-VHS deck over 1394 Firewire and exports to a variety of HD or standard definition output formats such as MPEG2-HD, Windows Media 9 and standard DVD.

BOXX workstations and rendering systems deliver the performance and reliability digital content creators demand and are ideal for anything from animation, game development and CAD to DV, SD and HD. Available in single- or dual-processor configurations featuring the latest AMD Athlon and Opteron processors and Intel Pentium 4 and Xeon processors, BOXX workstations and render nodes support popular software from companies such as Adobe, Alias, Autodesk, Discreet, Newtek and Softimage.
