Shave and Haircut 2.5 Ships for Cinema 4D
Posted by: amigo
Source: Press Release
 Date: Tue Mar 02 2004
MAXON - March 2, 2004 - the latest and greatest version of Joe Alter's famous hair plugin for 3D artists, Shave and a Haircut, is now available to CINEMA 4D users. Shave and a Haircut 2.5 for CINEMA 4D boasts a slew of enhancements. In a nutshell, the hair looks better than before and renders faster to boot.

The hair looks more lifelike than in previous versions thanks to a string of enhancements such as improved antialiasing, smoother soft shadows and a completely new look for frizz and kink that is closer to the real thing.

Shave's hair render engine has been tweaked to squeeze out even faster render times. Hair is now rendered anywhere from 25% to 100% faster compared with version 2. The exact speed-up depends on factors such as the number of hairs and the softness of the hair.

Pricing and Availability

Shave and a Haircut 2.5 for CINEMA 4D is available now from MAXON channels worldwide or maxonshop.com, for Windows and MacOS 10.1 up. CINEMA 4D R7 or R8 is required.
The suggested retail price is about 300 EUR. Owners of Shave and a Haircut for CINEMA 4D Version 1 or Version 2 can update to the new version for a maintenance fee of 43 EUR. All prices exclude VAT. Regional pricing may vary, and can be obtained from the local MAXON distributor.
