Dunedin, New Zealand - December 8, 2003 � Character Animation Technologies Ltd. has introduced its first animation software product, the Character Animation Toolkit, a character animation system plug-in for Discreet�s 3ds max application.
The Character Animation Toolkit was designed and developed in part by Philip Taylor who is also a CTO/co-founder of Character Animation Technologies, after working on the Discover Channel series "The Most Extreme" where a need arised for a toolset that would reduce repetitive tasks that come while creating character animation.
CAT features a customizable rig supporting any number of limbs or combination, for any limb configuration. Among other features are: parametric motion-cycle system; intuitive keyframe controls that can be assigned to all 3DS Max animation controllers; a mo-cap importer and a nonlinear animation system that allows animators to use all of the above at once on different parts of the rig simultaneously.
