NXN Announces New Education Programme for the UK
Posted by: amigo
Source: Press Release
 Date: Wed Jun 04 2003
4 June 2003 - NXN Software, the leading supplier of asset management
solutions for the digital entertainment and computer graphics industries,
today announced a new education programme aimed at introducing budding CG
artists and developers to the essentials of asset, production and software
configuration management. By making its NXN alienbrain Studio system
available to educational institutions at a greatly reduced price, NXN will
enable schools and universities to train their students in one of the
industry's most widely used asset and software configuration management
tools in preparation for their future career.

"NXN counts many of the UK's most successful games developers amongst our
customers - Lionhead Studios, Argonaut Games and Warthog to name but a few,"
commented Steve Tyson, Vice President Sales, NXN Software Ltd. "By offering
NXN alienbrain Studio as part of their course, therefore, institutions are
not only encouraging best practice in their students but are also better
equipping them for a future career in the games and CGI industry."

Liverpool's John Moores University will be one of the first institutions in
the UK to include asset management in its syllabus, with plans to install
NXN alienbrain Studio in time for the next academic year's intake of
students. "As games projects increase in complexity and teams continue to
grow, more and more games companies are recognising the benefits of asset
and production management solutions," said Simon Redman, Programme Leader
for MA Digital Games. "We want our students to be as employable as
possible. So that we can prepare them as best we can for the game
development environments they will meet in the real world, it is essential
that we too embrace asset and production management as part of our
syllabus."

NXN's special educational pricing is available to institutions committed to
offering asset management as part of their syllabus. Under the Education
Programme, elegible institutions can purchase licenses of NXN alienbrain
Studio for 125 per user including one year of support, maintenance and
upgrades.

Course directors interested in finding out more should contact Steve Tyson,
VP of Sales, NXN Software Ltd. on tel: 01277 261601, or via
