NEW ORLEANS - March 6, 2003 - Turbo Squid and Kaydara Inc., headquartered in Montr�al, Canada, today announced that a new Kaydara FBX Community has been added to Turbo Squid's quickly growing Web site. With over 700 active FBX models, scenes, and motion capture files, Turbo Squid's site is an invaluable worldwide resource for 3D artists in search of 3D content and motion capture data in Kaydara's powerful FBX file format.
"We have seen a significant increase in demand for FBX models and motion capture files," said Matt Wisdom, Chief Technology Officer for Turbo Squid. "Thanks to the number of 3D packages that natively support the FBX file format, FBX is quickly becoming the most efficient way for 3D content authors to share data."
Kaydara FBX is a powerful platform-independent 3D authoring and interchange format that provides access to 3D content from all the major 3D vendors and platforms. FBX is a binary file format that supports all the main 3D data elements including models, animations, textures, cameras, lights, and all associated hierarchical information, as well as 2D, audio, and video media. FBX also contains a special data structure for digital characters, that allows for high-quality, fully deformable IK driven characters to be easily transferred between packages. Used for over five years in production studios worldwide and supported by over 20 different 3D tools across a wide variety of platforms, FBX has proven itself a versatile, accurate, and dependable authoring and data transfer format.
