CAD Modules for Deep Exploration/Server Posted by: amigo Source: Press Release Date: Wed Jan 29 2003 LOS ANGELES--Jan. 28, 2003-- New CAD Modules Simplify the Repurposing of CAD Data for Training, Collaboration, Visualization, 3D Web Delivery and Technical Documentation.
Right Hemisphere(R), a leading provider of visual solutions software, announced today the immediate availability of the first CAD Modules for Deep Exploration(TM) and Deep Server(TM) designed to support the rapid and accurate repurposing 3D CAD data.
Newly released by Right Hemisphere are the CAD Module, which includes support for AutoCAD(TM), SolidWorks(TM), IGES and CADKEY(TM), and, the Granite Module, built on PTC(R)'s Granite One(TM), system providing access directly to Pro/ENGINEER(R) 3D models and other formats such as STEP(TM), IGES, VDA and other formats supported by the PTC Granite Engine.
These modules are optimised for rapid loading of CAD data into Deep Exploration or Deep Server while preserving the original integrity and structure of the CAD data. Attributes such as hierarchy and pivot points are accurately read to allow efficient repurposing of the data. These attributes are critical for efficient post-authoring of the CAD data when animation, materials and textures are added for visualization, design communication, training, technical documentation, sales and marketing, and customer support.
"The expertise Right Hemisphere has in both the entertainment and engineering space has resulted in a focused solution for the repurposing of CAD to truly meet the needs of communicators and artists throughout the organisation," said Mark Thomas, President and Founder, Right Hemisphere. "The accurate translation of CAD data is crucial for productivity in any subsequent 3D or 2D authoring process where CAD data is to be used in non-engineering applications."
"Repurposing of CAD and other complex data is perhaps the largest problem in industrial courseware creation today," says John Brooks, Director of Training Systems Development, AERA, Orlando. "Right Hemisphere is the most effective solution on the market we found to not only provide the translation and publishing infrastructure, but it also preserves the image quality."
Unigraphics(TM) and Catia(TM) CAD Modules for Deep Exploration and Deep Server are planned for release in Q1 2003. Additional modules for illustration rendering, polygon reduction, collaboration and markup will also be available in Q1 2003.
The Deep Exploration and Deep Server CAD Modules are available from Right Hemisphere. For more information on the Deep Exploration CAD Modules, please email [email protected]. For more information on the Deep Server CAD Modules, please email [email protected].
