FrameCycler DDS, New Hi-Res Version
Posted by: amigo
Source: Press Release
 Date: Tue Jan 14 2003
MUNICH, GERMANY---January 14, 2003---IRIDAS, a leading developer of
digital playback technology for the film and broadcast industry, today
announced the final release of FrameCycler Digital Daily System (DDS). The
PC-supported software application streams uncompressed film resolution
sequences directly from disk delivering high-end playback capabilities to
multiple workstations.

Building on IRIDAS' line of products for individual workstations,
FrameCycler DDS provides the keystone to an integrated playback
infrastructure for the whole post-production team. By equipping team members
with full resolution playback technology, facilities can significantly
reduce the time and costs previously associated with daily review sessions.

At the heart of FrameCycler DDS is the IRIDAS High Speed Stream (IHSS) file
format. IHSS allows high-speed playback of uncompressed film sequences from
a RAID system at 1K, HD, 2K and even higher resolutions. FrameCycler DDS
reads and writes all standard industry formats including Cineon and can
convert to - and from - IHSS on the fly during playback. A rich tool set
includes playlists, A/B channels to compare sequences, a color picker,
adjustable frame rates, integrated sound playback, a full complement of
color space modes, and more.

"We began work on FrameCycler DDS as a direct result of our conversations
with industry leaders in special effects and post-production," said Lin
Sebastian Kayser, IRIDAS CEO, and chief developer. "They told us over and
over that they needed quick, easy access to film resolution playback so they
can speed up production, create closer collaboration and cut costs. We
believe FrameCycler DDS will help them meet those needs and more."

"With FrameCycler DDS's we have the ability to play back hours of full
resolution digital film material, load cut lists from our Avids and then
play these on the fly, said Kim Libreri, Visual Effects Supervisor for ESC
Entertainment. "With the ability to preview 2K dailies before they are sent
to film, FrameCycler has dramatically improved our Post-Production workflow"

Pricing and Availability:

FrameCycler DDS is available through selected resellers and from IRIDAS
directly. Prices start at $1199 per seat for the 1K version and $3999 per
seat for the 2K version. Further information about FrameCycler DDS, other
IRIDAS products and licensing options can be obtained by visiting
www.iridas.com or calling IRIDAS at +49 (89) 330 40 982.
