Seneca College, from up here in Canada eh, now offers a Game Animation program in their specialized animation campus, the Digital Media Centre.

Toronto, ON November 6, 2002 Seneca College, the largest college in Canada, announces the launch of a new animation program geared towards the gaming industry. This new program will be run from the colleges specialized animation campus, the Digital Media Centre.

Already recognized as one of the top animation schools in North America, the addition of the Game Animation program at the Digital Media Centre adds an exciting new dimension to the schools existing high-end 3D animation and visual effects programs.

The Game Animation course is focused on the art and design of creating 3D characters, animation, models and levels for games. In addition, the program also incorporates traditional art elements such as life drawing, character design, storyboarding, traditional animation principles, and acting for animators into the curriculum.

The strength of the program lies in the experience of the instructors. Modelers, animators, texture artists and project managers; all of the core instructors are gaming industry professionals who have worked on published games for PS2, X-Box, GameCube, PC, PSOne, and Gameboy Advance. As a Discreet Training Centre the Digital Media Centre employs Discreet Certified Instructors.

The Digital Media Centre is now accepting applications for the next session of their programs.
