Next Limit release RealFlow 2 Posted by: Schloerby Source: Next Limit Date: Fri Oct 11 2002 RealFlow is a physics-based particle system built upon Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) technology, which make use of real fluid equations in a flexible way to accurately simulate a wide range of fluids like liquids, gases and viscous matter (slime, goo, lava...).
New and improved features in version 2 comprise:
Totally new user interface: multiple resizable viewports, axis handler, parameters lists.
Improved fluid engine, increased perfomance and stability.
New viscosity per particle and real mass. Turbulence, mixture of fluids, and other complex effects are more realistic.
Improved memory management allows to use more particles.
Improved multithreading allowing 2 to 32 CPU in the same machine.
New rigid body engine, allows object-object collision and fluid-object interaction. The fluid can displace the objects. Riots, avalanchas, ice cubes in a glass, are now possible.
Time slider, play/stop buttons to preview the fluid. The simulation can resume from a previous point.
 Mini script for command execution
Fluid resolution, allows changes in the number of particles while using the same fluid.
Improved graph window for parameter animation (envelopes). More parameters can be animated.
Improved mesh generation. Re-meshing feature added.
 New project management
Revised functionallity of emitters and daemons.
