So I got the normal map I want (see Figure 11). Figure 11 The next step was to see the result when the normal map had been applied in maya. First I used the way from www.drone.org to apply it. But there is another tutorial (http://www.jeffparrott.com/normalmaptut_0.html) saying that all need to do is to link the outcolor of the map to the normal camera of the material. I tried both, and the result looked similar with minor difference. Please be aware of that normal map is not like a color map with shadow information baked in. It will interact with light. That�s the reason why low-poly models look more believable with normal map.
