3D Studio MAX Benchmark Standardization
Added on: Mon Aug 07 2000
Page: 1 2 4

Recording Render Results

After the render completes, click on the render button a second time. (You can also go to File-Summary Info for the same information) This will bring up the render progress a second time.

At the top right youll see your last frame time. (Blue) This is how much time it took your system to complete the render.
The face count of the current scene is in yellow and the current resolution is in red. Record the results of the last frame time then render at the other resolutions. Then you can either email me the results you obtained [email protected] or keep them for yourself, using them to compare your system to others benchmarked at 3dluvr.com.

The Scenes

There are a total of three scenes used in the suite of Max benchmarking. All of these scenes are included both on the primary max cd, and the world builder cd. You can install these scenes when you install max, by either doing
a typical install, or doing a custom install and choosing scenes, and maps. If you chose not to install these scenes
while installing Max, you will have to manually apply the texture maps via the world builder cd, which makes this a much more labor intensive task.

Apollo
This scene is chosen for simplicity. A single complex lit object, reflecting the common object render.

Location: Scenes/Space/Apollo.max
Poly Count: 162,465
Lights: 6
Special Notes: Medium Poly Apollo Capsule
