Now this is good, another application available for Linux, coming from RealViz and Interactive Effects, who have announced Piranha ReTimer Technology availablility for both Linux and SGI (IRIX) today. Perhaps someday I'll be able to fully move away from that M$ virus on my computer. HEY ADOBE, WAKE UP !
San Francisco � September 24, 2002 � REALVIZ, a leading developer of image processing software solutions, and Interactive Effects, developer of high-end software for film and video, today announced the availability of REALVIZ� ReTimer� for Piranha. Piranha, available for both SGI and Linux operating systems, is a high-speed, resolution-independent, compositing, paint, editing and effects system. ReTimer enables users to smoothly speed up or slow down any video, film, or image sequence, with the flexibility to manually or automatically carry out individual pixel tracking correction. This technology will be available beginning in September, 2002.
The specialized technology, which was developed based on REALVIZ ReTimer 2.5, allows Piranha users to adjust the frame rate of imported film and video footage without the need to export image files into a separate program. ReTimer can change the pacing of any sequence by up to 1000%. The application can speed up, slow down or create variable speed clips from standard speed filmed sequences by automatically generating highly accurate in-between frames, all without the need for expensive slow motion cameras.
