April 20, 2005 - ATI Technologies introduced the industry's fastest integrated platform technology for Intel PCI Express notebooks - Radeon(R) Xpress (TM) 200M. Highly versatile in design, Radeon Xpress 200M supports all currently available Intel(R) Pentium(R) M, Intel(R) Celeron(R) and Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 classes of processors. With industry-leading graphics performance and innovative PowerPlay 5.0 technology, Radeon Xpress 200M is ideal for a broad range of notebook designs including thin and light, performance thin, and desktop replacement.

Radeon Xpress 200M for Intel will be available through leading OEMs and ODMs such as NEC, Asus, Quanta, Compal, Wistron, Mitac and LG.

"NEC's partnership with ATI allows us to continuously push the graphics technology envelope to provide unprecedented video performance to consumers through codec acceleration capabilities and technologies like LRTC(TM) for superior quality video playback," said Kiyotaka Matsubara, General Manager, Development and Manufacturing Division, PC Operation Unit, NEC. "With Radeon Xpress 200M technology, we can deliver superior performance with ATI 's blistering-fast on-board DirectX 9 graphics for PCI Express platforms."

Delivering Radeon-class graphics performance and features, Radeon Xpress 200M provides investment protection for next-generation operating systems along with support for DDR2 memory up to 667 MHz. With the addition of PowerPlay 5.0, Radeon Xpress 200M incorporates innovative new power management functionality such as Dynamic Lane Count Switching (DLCS), which can reduce GPU power consumption by up to 30 per cent by adjusting power on-the-fly.

"With the release of Radeon Xpress 200M, ATI continues with a tradition of delivering industry leading mobile platform technology," said Reuven Soraya, Director of Marketing, Chipset Business, ATI Technologies. "With innovations like PowerPlay 5.0, combined with new business opportunities on Celeron M-based platforms our chipset business unit is well positioned for continued success in the marketplace."
