November 16,2004 - Digimation announced that it has begun shipping the SpeedTree Tree Libraries for SpeedTree 2 and later. There are a total of 3 different libraries with each library containing over 30 new tree species and over 150 different SPT files. The pricing on these libraries is as follows:
1 Library $495 (~$15 Per Tree Species)
2 Libraries $895 (~$13.5 Per Tree Species)
3 Libraries $1195 (~$12 Per Tree Species)
�The introduction of the SpeedTree Tree Libraries gives all SpeedTree users a substantial resource of trees for use in their scenes.� said Todd Peterson, Director of the Software Division at Digimation. �Not only do you get the trees, but you also get the bitmaps that were used to make the trees and you can use those bitmaps to make new trees of your own. With support for flared tree trunks and SpeedWind in SpeedTree 3, these libraries are a must have for SpeedTree owners.�
The SpeedTree Tree Libraries are designed to work in conjunction with SpeedTree 3 and include support for flared tree trunks and the new SpeedWind controls. SpeedTree 2 users may also purchase the libraries and make use of the trees without flared trunk and advanced wind support.
