San Francisco, CA - August 10, 2004 � SplutterFish, LLC, maker of the award-winning 3D rendering suite, Brazil r/s�, today announced that it has formed a strategic partnership with The Orphanage, Inc, a leading San Francisco and Hollywood-based feature visual effects and animation company. The partnership aims to further strengthen the efficiency of Brazil r/s as a large scale production tool in the most demanding pipelines, and to expand Brazil r/'s compatibility with a variety of 3D software packages, including Alias� software from Maya�.
Under the agreement, The Orphanage, which has adopted Brazil r/s as its primary rendering solution, will offer its extensive production and technical expertise along with studio resources to the SplutterFish development team. To support this collaboration, SplutterFish has moved part of its key engineering team to The Orphanage's San Francisco facility to work closely with The Orphanage's software developers to aggressively meet the evolving challenges of real-world visual effects and visualization.
The Orphanage, with its staff of more than 150 visual effects artists and production professionals, has gained a stellar reputation for its visual effects and animation work on several blockbuster films, such as Revolution Studio's "Hellboy," "Fox's "The Day After Tomorrow," and Dimension's "Spy Kids 3D," as well as major TV spots for Playstation2 and Volkswagen. The Orphanage VFX team started using Brazil r/s in early 2002 and was immediately impressed by its reliability, fast-turnaround, and ease-of-use to achieve the high-quality images required by its clients. After Brazil r/s had proven its mettle on many successful, challenging projects, The Orphanage re-tooled its pipeline to make Brazil r/s its primary rendering solution.
