Source: Press Release
 Date: Tue Aug 10 2004
Los Angeles, CA - Aug. 10, 2004 - Responding to the requests of SketchUp(R) conceptual design software users, @Last Software today announced that they will be previewing a new pre-visualization extension in their booth at the Siggraph 2004 Expo. The extension "SketchUp 4 Film & Stage," is a major step by the award-winning 3D design software's plan to play in additional creative markets.
Dubbed "3D for the rest of us," SketchUp is unique 3D software as it is intuitive, easy to learn and fun to use. Originally developed for use in the architecture, engineering and construction industries, SketchUp is already being used for pre-visualization in the entertainment, film and gaming industries.

"Industry leaders already using SketchUp for pre-visualization," states Brian Makare, President of @Last Software, "drove our development of the extension 4 Film & Stage. With these enhancements, SketchUp is even more valuable as a pre-visualization tool for story boarding, animatics, set diagrams and technical documentation."

SketchUp 4 Film & Screen will be shown in @Last's booth #1158 and includes an enhanced Camera Tool, which enables the user to control aspect ratios and the exact position of a camera, and a library of pre-drawn filming specific components. SketchUp supports export of AVI and QuickTime files that can be imported into other multimedia programs such as Apple's Final Cut Pro(R).

Availability

SketchUp and a preview of 4 Film & Stage is now available for download from @Last Software's website: http://www.sketchup.com/4film&stage.
