IRIDAS Upgrades Entire FrameCycler Product Line
Posted by: amigo
Source: Press Release
 Date: Tue Sep 23 2003
Munich, Germany -Sept. 23, 2003- IRIDAS, a leading innovator of high-performance digital media playback solutions for the film, broadcast and digital content creation industries, today announced that upgrades to the complete FrameCycler product line are available immediately. FrameCycler applications work together with content-creation applications offering animators, compositors, and visual effects artists total control over film-resolution playback and a growing set of powerful sequence analysis tools.

The new FrameCycler 2.7 versions offer increased performance speed, now also for single processor systems. The expanded tool set includes sophisticated new audio playback tools, enhanced sound scrubbing, and support for additional file formats. A 2:3 pull-down algorithm enables easy transfer from 24fps material to NTSC compatible frame rates.

"Even though we are distributing this release as an update to current FrameCycler owners, the broad range of new elements and performance enhancements actually make this the biggest single step in the evolution of our flagship product line," said Lin Sebastian Kayser, CEO of IRIDAS. "As complex CG work becomes more and more widespread in the industry, the need for tools which offer improved productivity and immediate access to full-resolution playback just keeps growing."

"FrameCycler is the best system we have seen," said Warren Grubb, VFX Supervisor at Fathom Studios, which is currently working on DELGO, the first independently produced computer animated feature film in the U.S. "It has an incredible impact on our workflow. Our artists use FrameCycler constantly during the day to check their work from Maya. They also use it to view several shots back to back with the playlist function allowing them to see how their shots flow together with shots other artists are working on in the same sequence."

IRIDAS FrameCycler 2.7 is available free of charge for current owners of FrameCycler products. New licenses are available through selected resellers and from IRIDAS directly. Site licenses are also available. Check the Web site or contact IRIDAS for pricing. Further information about IRIDAS FrameCycler products, other IRIDAS products, and academic pricing, can be obtained by visiting www.iridas.com or calling IRIDAS at +49 (89) 330 40 982.
