Loud, Inc. on July 16 at the Macworld Expo in New York, will release three breakthrough animation applications as well as an update to its already popular Stop-Motion Studio. These tools unleash the creative spirit in all audiences, from professionals and animation students to kids and DV-enthusiasts.
Anyone Can Make Stop-Frame Animations
Stop-Motion Studio brings the world of stop-motion animation within easy reach. With a Macintosh, a digital camera and Stop-Motion Studio, anyone can create stop-motion (also known as stop-action, stop-frame or claymation) movies with ease. Point a camera at a scene, shoot a picture, move the figures, shoot another, and soon a movie is made. Version 1.5 now sports a completely improved user interface and the following features:
o Create smoother motion with onion-skinning, a technique that superimposes the current camera preview on the last frame in your animation
o Record a soundtrack with your computer's microphone or import music
o Adjust color and white-balance for camera input
o Capture frames from digital video cameras, still cameras or image files
o Play back movies full-screen

For professional cel animators, Loud Pencil Studio is a complete pencil-testing application for the timing of test hand-drawn animations, incorporating multiple transparent levels in an X-Sheet, reshooting and retiming frames and graphic audio waveforms.
