Shake 3 has been released today by Apple adding new features to the Mac OS X version with continuing support for Linux and IRIX versions. New Shake 3 includes network render management software Shake Qmaster with unlimited network render licenses, but sadly available only to Mac OS X version.
Also included (for all platforms) are new visual effects features including real time broadcast preview and motion tracking, while tracking data can now be applied to paint strokes and rotoshapes for automated rotoscoping tasks.
Other features include new audio support for viewing waveforms against the animation curves; new film grain filter providing simulation of a variety of stock film; improved animation curve editor; enhanced Photoshop import functionality (including layered files support with blending modes);
New Shake 3 is avaliable for Linux, IRIX at the cost of $9,900 and Mac OS X for $4,950, with annual maintenance of $1,485.
