REALVIZ MatchMover Pro v3 at NAB 2003
Posted by: amigo
Source: Press Release
 Date: Fri Mar 28 2003
Sophia Antipolis, France --March 27, 2003-- REALVIZ, a leader in image processing software development, announced today, that NAB 2003 will provide the backdrop for the unveiling of the very latest platform for their automatic tracking software, MatchMover Professional. Version 3.0 of MatchMover Professional is scheduled for release in Summer 2003 (Windows and Linux), with a Mac OSX version of the application also available for the very first time in Fall 2003. In the countdown to the launch of version 3, REALVIZ will be demonstrating a MatchMover Professional product in Las Vegas, code-named 'Corsica', which has been developed in close collaboration with a selected number of leading international post-production houses. The REALVIZ team will be present at NAB 2003 on booth: SU5313 from 7. -10. April 2003.

REALVIZ MatchMover Professional is the professional way to automatically track 3D camera data and motion from videos and film sequences, whilst offering users the ability to move smoothly back and forth between Automatic and Manual processes, with no interruption of workflow, providing the ease of automatic tracking, with the precision control matchmoving professionals demand. Version 2.5 of the application, which began shipping in September 2002, was recently pronounced by Digital Media World, Australia as, "Disturbingly good. With its ease of use contrasting to the tedious nature of traditional manual tracking, it's hard to see it not getting used on a regular basis in any visual effects studio environment. It works as advertised, and in this modern world of vaporware and marketing schlock, that's a significant achievement." (Damian Allen)

In addition to significant advancements in terms of workflow and speed, the latest version of the application will also encompass a variety of new features, which have been designed in conjunction with leading post production houses in Europe and Hollywood. These include:

-The handling of motion control data
-3D object model-based tracking
-3D tracking of cameras and multiple objects in the same session
-The handling of survey points
-A new graph editor toolbox

"Corsica has been designed in close collaboration with, and for, top-rank professionals. The amount of new interface and technology features is stunning. This gives Corsica a combination of power, ease of use and versatility with which professional users are sure to get an accurate solve in 100% of the cases, with optimal efficiency."
Luc Robert, REALVIZ CTO.

About REALVIZ MatchMover Professional

REALVIZ recently highlighted the work of client, Pixel Magic, a division of OCS/Freeze Frame, who used MatchMover Professional to complete an array of visual effects shots for 20th Century Fox's latest super hero action film, "Daredevil", starring Ben Affleck. The film, which has been topping the US box office charts since its debut on 14. February 2003, is also scheduled for release across Europe/Asia and South America from mid-March through April 2003. Using REALVIZ MatchMover Professional, Pixel Magic created a seamless mix of CG and real-life elements, a challenging task, considering the super-human display of acrobatics and quick-pace style of the movie.

REALVIZ' production-proven applications have also been used for incredible effects in many other feature film and television projects, including, the Steven Spielberg/Tom Cruise movie, "Minority Report", and Spielberg's recent alien abduction miniseries, "Taken" as well as 'Dinotopia' (winner of 4 awards at February's Annual Visual Effects Society Awards), and big-screen blockbusters such as the latest James Bond outing, "Die Another Day", "Harry Potter", "The Ring", "28 Days Later", "Hart's War", "Swordfish", "Captain Corelli's Mandolin", "Enemy At The Gates", "Driven" and the current "Shanghai Knights", starring Jackie Chan and Owen Wilson.
